Daryl Murphy has committed his future to Sunderland by signing a five-year deal with the Championship club. The 23-year-old striker, who joined the Black Cats from Irish side Waterford last summer, said: "I'm absolutely delighted to sign my new deal.
"I'm grateful to boss Niall Quinn - he's shown faith in me and I want to repay that by scoring goals."
Quinn said: "I've been really warmed by Daryl's attitude and commitment. He's done fantastically well."
