Former Sunderland midfielder Jimmy McNab has died at the age of 66 after a short illness. He joined the Wearsiders as a schoolboy and rose through the ranks playing more than 300 times for the club.
McNab will be best remembered playing in the 1964 promotion-winning team, with the likes of Charlie Hurley, Len Ashurst and Jimmy Montgomery.
After leaving Sunderland he also had spells at Preston and Stockport, making more than 500 appearances in total.
