Sunderland have signed Arsenal defender Justin Hoyte on a season-long loan. The 20-year-old made 12 appearances for the Gunners last season, playing in central defence and right-back.
Sunderland boss Mick McCarthy told the club website: "Justin is a very talented player. He's quick and can play anywhere in the back four.
"He has useful Premiership and Champions League experience and his versatility provides me with cover. I'm thrilled to have him on board."
Hoyte could make his debut at Chelsea, but he will not play against Arsenal this season.
