Sunderland defender Neill Collins will stay with the club until the summer of 2007 after agreeing a 12-month extension to his contract. The 20-year-old has impressed since joining from Dumbarton for a nominal fee in August.
He has started six matches for Mick McCarthy's side, who are pressing for promotion this term.
McCarthy told the club's website: "He has a bright future, I'm pleased we've been able to secure his services."
