 Irish prospect Stephen Elliott has joined Sunderland |
Republic of Ireland Under-21 international Stephen Elliott has moved from Manchester City to Sunderland on a three-year-contract. The 20-year-old said he was looking forward to joining up with former Ireland boss Mick McCarthy at the Stadium of Light.
Elliott's contract at Manchester City had been about to run out.
"I had various options but when I heard about Sunderland's interest, I was thrilled," said Elliott.
The arrival of Elliott on Wearside should add to the competition for places in Sunderland's attack.
Elliott made his Premiership debut for City at Bolton in February.
