Stoke have signed Belgian youth international Florent Cuvelier from Portsmouth on a two-year contract.

The 17-year-old midfielder had attracted interest from clubs including Manchester City, Tottenham and Fulham before opting to join Stoke.

"He's definitely one for the future and we are delighted he has chosen to move here," said Stoke manager Tony Pulis.

"It's a measure of the emphasis we put on youth development that we've attracted such an outstanding talent."
