Collins joined Stoke from Sunderland for 2.75m on deadline day
Stoke City manager Tony Pulis admits that Danny Collins' mistake cost his side after the 1-1 draw with Bolton at the Reebok Stadium on Saturday.
Collins, making his second start for the Potters, brought down Sam Ricketts in the 89th minute, and Matt Taylor converted the resulting spot-kick.
"Danny should really stay on his feet," Pulis told BBC Radio Stoke.
"Apart from that he played ever so well. I thought all of the back four were immense."
Collins joined Stoke from Sunderland on 1 September for £2.75m.
Dave Kitson had given Stoke the lead with his third goal in four matches, and Pulis thinks he is back at the top of his game after a barren first campaign at the Britannia Stadium.
"Goals breed confidence, and he's scored three in four matches now," added Pulis.
"Fingers crossed, he'll get us 10 goals this year."
