Stoke boss eyes January signings

Tony Pulis
Pulis' Stoke have the worst away record in the Premier League

Stoke City manager Tony Pulis has said the opening of the January transfer window cannot come quickly enough for the Potters.

Injuries robbed Pulis of seven first-team regulars for Saturday's 3-0 defeat at Blackburn.

He told BBC Radio Stoke: "In a smaller club, if you pick up injuries like we have then you struggle.

"The window doesn't open for a week or so. I wish it had opened last week so we could have done some business."

Pulis was already without Liam Lawrence, Salif Diao, Leon Cort, Dave Kitson, Andy Griffin and Mama Sidibe for the trip to Ewood Park before goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen pulled out after injuring his finger in the warm-up.

The Danish international now faces an x-ray on Monday to discover the extent of the injury.

However, Pulis refused to make excuses for his side and said they made life too easy for Blackburn in Sam Allardyce's first game in charge.

"They got in our box three times in the first 20 minutes and were 3-0 up," said Pulis.

"Apart from that we had the majority of the play, but you can't defend the way we did and expect to win a game away from home in the Premier League."
