Pulis pleased with point at Wigan

Pulis' side lie 11th in the Premier League

Stoke City manager Tony Pulis has said he was happy to take a point from Saturday's goalless draw with Wigan.

City stretched their unbeaten run to three games but have still yet to win away from home in the Premier League.

Pulis told BBC Radio Stoke: "Today was always going to be difficult, but I thought my players were absolutely brilliant this afternoon.

"It's disappointing that we didn't take our chances to break on them, we need to improve on that away from home."

The Potters had come under criticism from Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, who accused Stoke of using overly aggressive tactics in the 2-1 win at the Britannia Stadium.

Pulis admitted he was worried that his side may be harshly treated by referees as a result of Wenger's comments.

But the former Gillingham boss was full of praise for match official Mike Riley after the stalemate at the JJB Stadium.

"I thought Mike did well," said Pulis.

"I can moan about one or two things, as you always can, but I thought Mike was smashing," he added.
