Fulop has made just six first-team appearances for Sunderland

Sunderland manager Roy Keane says Marton Fulop's move to Stoke City is now entirely in the hands of the Hungarian goalkeeper.

A fee of �3m has been agreed between the clubs, with Fulop's wage demands the only stumbling block to the move.

Keane told the BBC: "Marton is struggling to agree terms and if that isn't sorted in the next 24 hours then he will still be a Sunderland player.

"It is all down to the player, we have agreed a price with Stoke."

The 25-year-old spent less than a week on loan with Stoke in February before being recalled to the Stadium of Light.

Since Stoke's promotion to the Premier League manager Tony Pulis has made no secret of his intention to sign a goalkeeper and turned his attentions to Fulop when Scott Carson snubbed the Potters in favour of a move to West Brom.

"These players come and see me and say they want to play first-team football," added Keane.

"But then they get the opportunity and all of a sudden money becomes an issue.

"It's up to Marton to get the best deal he can but if he can't then he'll come back and I will be delighted to welcome him back because he could be a top keeper."
