The 28-year-old began his career at City and spent eight months on-loan at the Britannia Stadium last season.

"There are still certain things which have to be ironed out, whether that be between me and Stoke or Stoke and Portsmouth," he told the Sentinel.

"It's nice going where you're liked and made to feel wanted and the big playing card is that it is where I live. Stoke is not just another club to me."
