Young Welsh goalkeeper Owain Fn Williams has agreed a move from Crewe Alexandra to Stockport County.
The Gwynedd man, 21, is out of contract at Crewe, and if agreement on a fee cannot be reached it could go to a Football League tribunal.
Fn Williams has yet to play for the Railwaymen, but his form for Wales Under-21 made him highly sought.
"(Wales keeper) Wayne Hennessey told me that if a chance arose at County not to hesitate," Williams told the club site.
Meanwhile Stockport have appointed local businessman Martin Reid as the club's new chairman.
