McIlroy had high hopes for Myhill |
Stockport boss Sammy McIlroy has admitted he was disappointed at missing out on Boaz Myhill after the on-loan goalkeeper signed for Hull. Myhill was set to move from Aston Villa to Edgeley Park but opted for Hull.
"I've really been hit hard with this one," McIlroy said. "Boaz did brilliantly for us and we wanted to keep him on.
"But the story got out that we wanted to sign him and his agent then did a deal with Hull."
The goalkeeper had impressed during a loan spell at County, and was expected to put pen-to-paper on a permanent deal.
McIlroy added: "Of course, I'm disappointed, but that's football and we just have to get on with things."
