Chairman Brendan Elwood claims Stockport have been on the verge of financial ruin this season.
Ipswich, Leicester, Barnsley, Port Vale and York are among those clubs who have gone into administration this term and Elwood says Stockport would have joined them but for his funding.
Player-manager Carlton Palmer and assistant Kevin Richardson accepted a 50% pay cut earlier this season, while the reserve and youth team manager's jobs have been combined.
"There might be a few clubs going to the wall this year, and it could have been Stockport County," Elwood said.
"I have put in two to three million over the past three years, and if I had not been able to do that the club would have gone bust."
