Stevenage sign striker Tim Sills from Torquay United
Sills helped Torquay to promotion from the Conference last year
Blue Square Premier leaders Stevenage have snapped up Torquay United striker Tim Sills for an undisclosed fee on an 18-month contract.
The 30-year-old, who moved to Plainmoor in June 2007, scored 41 goals during his time on the South coast.
Sills was a key member of Torquay's promotion winning side last season, scoring the second goal in their play-off final win over Cambridge in May.
In League Two this term, Sills has only netted twice in 18 appearances.
Stevenage boss Graham Westley told BBC Three Counties Radio: "He gives us something a little bit different in attacking areas.
"We now have a little bit more strength in forward area's and I hope that strength will pay dividends.
"He knows the level very well, is an experienced and respected campaigner at the level," Westley added
"There has been once or twice this season, we are where we are this season because of the efforts of the lads in the squad and they have done a fantastic job, when we have failed to break open defences and we have really needed that extra dimension.
"I think Sills gives us that different dimension, so where we struggled to break open AFC Wimbledon we now have a little bit more strength."
Sills started his career with non-league Camberley Town in 1998, and has also played for Oxford and Hereford.
