Stevenage Borough have named 24-year-old defender Mark Roberts as their captain for the 2009/10 season.
The former Northwich Victoria man replaces striker Steve Morison, who left the club for Millwall last week.
Manager Graham Westley told the club website: "Roberts is a natural leader who leads in the best way - by example. He is the obvious choice."
Meanwhile, Boro have confirmed that striker Callum Willock and midfielder John Martin have been released.
