St Mirren manager Lennon draws positives from loss
Lennon (centre) feels his side improved in the second half
St Mirren manager Danny Lennon was able to draw positives from his side's 2-0 defeat by Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.
"They tried to get the ball down and were continuously taking the game to Kilmarnock," said Lennon
"I was pleased with the commitment, spirit, effort and desire of the boys in the second half.
"We've got to use them and make sure that every game from now on in, I think that's us down to 11 now, we need that level of commitment and performance."
William Gros opened the scoring for Killie and Alexei Eremenko added a somewhat fortunate second for the hosts before half-time.
"I'd give Kilmarnock the first half, albeit I still felt that we had a lot of ball, we just had to take a wee bit more care with it," said Lennon. "In the second half, we certainly did that.
"We were very unfortunate with the second goal - seemingly there was a wee bit of a bobble the other night (the winner against Motherwell). We're on the receiving end today.
"That's football, you take the rub of the green when you get it and you know the knocks when they don't go for you."
Lennon was heartened with the performance of young midfielder Kenny McLean, who came on as a second-half substitute and struck the post with a shot.
"Kenny's got that wee bit about him," added the manager.
"He handles the ball well, he picks, more often than not, the correct passes, he's got that wee bit of drive, he sees things and Kenny's done himself no harm.
