Manager Danny Lennon lauds St Mirren comeback

Manager Danny Lennon was thrilled to see St Mirren come from behind to claim victory in Inverness.

"It took us 10 minutes to get going but we bounced back from going behind so early," said Lennon. "I didn't want the first half to end.

"Often we're very good until final third but sometimes we lack that important killer instinct.

"If you don't buy a raffle ticket, you're not going to win and we're encouraging them to do that more."

Craig Dargo returned to the Buddies starting line-up for the first time since August and Lennon was pleased with the striker's contribution.

Dargo played for 76 minutes, with Sean Lynch coming on as a replacement and setting up the second of Stevie Thomson's goals.

"He's had a torrid time with injury and, touch wood, hopefully that's over," added the Buddies boss.

"We knew he would offer us another dimension and cause centre-backs problems with his movement.

"He's dynamic and I was delighted to give him as many minutes as we possibly could."

The win lifts the Paisley side up to ninth spot in the Scottish Premier League and Lennon hopes his side can keep up the good work against Hearts later in the week.

"We thought that we were building some momentum earlier, before all the call-offs for the snow," he explained.

"Hopefully, we can kick on from here but every game is difficult and Hearts will be tough at home on Wednesday."
