St Mirren manager Danny Lennon will review the video evidence before deciding whether to fine Paul McGowan for his 63rd-minute red card.
The on-loan Celtic forward was ordered off after an off-the-ball altercation with Kilmarnock's Manuel Pascali.
"I'll have to see the incident," Lennon said after the 2-1 defeat.
"Until he's proven guilty, I can't comment on whether he will be fined, but the officials have definitely seen something there."
Lennon had already lost Craig Dargo to injury before the visit to Kilmarnock.

"It has been a bad day all round, you have taken zero points and lost another striker for next week with a straight red," he told BBC Scotland.
"We got ourselves back into the game. It looked game on at 1-1, but wee McGowan then gives us an uphill battle.
"I'll look at the tape and we'll deal with that internally."
Lennon was disappointed with the Paisley side's display.
"We asked them to go and build on their very solid performance against Hibernian, but we could not get started in there," he said.
"For the quality and experience we have in that dressing-room, I expect a lot more.
"We probably showed more fight with 10 men than 11 but couldn't get enough quality into the box."
