Boruc (right) is shown a yellow card by referee Willie Collum
St Mirren manager Gus MacPherson believes visiting goalkeeper Artur Boruc should have been sent off in the Buddies' 3-1 defeat by Celtic.
Boruc was booked for a reckless challenge on Saints striker Craig Dargo when the match was still goal-less.
MacPherson said: "At first showing, I would say if an outfield player makes a challenge in that manner, I think most of us would be expecting a red card.
"I don't think it should be anything different for a goalkeeper."
The incident took place outside of the box on the right hand-side of the pitch during a good spell of pressure for the home side.
"I'm not saying it was a goalscoring opportunity, but just for the challenge in itself I think it could have been a red card," added MacPherson.
Celtic boss Gordon Strachan admitted that his keeper could have been dismissed - but not for denying an obvious scoring chance.
"The guy's going away from goal with two defenders getting in behind," he said.
"It could've been a dangerous tackle."
However, Strachan was unhappy that the Boruc incident had overshadowed what he viewed as a sublime finish by Shunsuke Nakamura for Celtic's second goal.
