Birchall made nine appearances for St Mirren |
Injury has brought a premature end to Chris Birchall's loan spell at St Mirren and the midfielder has returned to troubled Coventry City. The Trinidad and Tobago international picked up a hamstring injury in the 5-1 defeat to Falkirk.
And Buddies boss Gus MacPherson told the club website: "It looks as if he will be out of action for a minimum of four weeks so has decided to go back."
Cash-strapped Coventry have announced plans to go into administration.
The 23-year-old arrived in Paisley in August and made nine appearances for St Mirren.
Birchall, capped 26 times, spent five years at Port Vale before signing for Coventry for 300,000 in 2006.
