Sheerin helped St Johnstone win the Division One title and promotion
St Johnstone midfielder Paul Sheerin has signed a new contract with the Perth club after their promotion to the Scottish Premier League.
The 34-year-old has agreed a new one-year deal and follows defenders Graham Gartland and Kevin Rutkiewicz in committing himself to Saints.
Talks are still being held with veteran goalkeeper Alan Main and defender Gary Irvine about new contracts.
Striker Derek Holmes rejected a new deal to join Queen of the South.
St Johnstone have already strengthened their squad by signing defender Dave MacKay and midfielder Murray Davidson for £50,000 from First Division rivals Livingston.
Sheerin, previously of Alloa, Southampton, Inverness Caley Thistle, joined St Johnstone from Aberdeen in 2004 and has been lauded for his performances in Saints' run-in to the Division One championship.
Rutkiewitz, a 29-year-old who has become a first-team regular since joining from Aberdeen in 2004, penned a 12-month extension to his contract, committing himself to Saints until summer 2011.
Gartland has made just seven appearances after signing from Drogheda United in January and previously had a disappointing spell in the SPL with Dundee United.
But the 25-year-old is hopeful of making a bigger impact after having a full pre-season with the Perth club.
