Morris nets St Johnstone switch
Jody Morris
Morris has moved to Saints until the end of the season
St Johnstone have signed former Millwall and Chelsea midfielder Jody Morris until the end of the season.

Saints manager Derek McInnes played alongside the 29-year-old, and said he would bring experience to the squad at McDiarmid Park.

"He has had a frustrating time of it this season," said McInnes.

"I was delighted to offer him the chance to come up to Perth. I saw him at first-hand at Millwall and he did nothing but impress me."

Morris looked to have secured moves to either Charlton or MK Dons, but McInnes invited him to train with Saints when those moves collapsed.

"He did a pre-season with Charlton Athletic and it looked like they were going to take him on but they changed their mind at the last minute," said the Saints manager.

"He had a similar arrangement with MK Dons which also fell through.

"Jody just needs a wee break to get back into the game and hopefully we can give him that."

Morris could feature in Saturday's First Division match away to Dundee, McInnes added.

He made 65 league appearances for Millwall after joining the Lions from Rotherham in 2004, but was released by the London club in June last year.
