Owen Coyle thought his side missed a golden opportunity |
St Johnstone player-manager Owen Coyle was proud of his side against Hibernian but lamented missing their chance to reach the CIS Insurance Cup final. "We're not looking for sympathy," he told BBC Sport after the 3-1 defeat.
"I asked for them to believe in themselves and they did that. I'm proud of them, but the bottom line is we're out of the final when we had a chance.
"But we have another cup game on Saturday and we just have to pick ourselves up and beat Falkirk."
St Johnstone's Kevin James was voted man of the match, but that was no consolation to the former Falkirk defender.
"We did the club proud, but ultimately we're out and it's going to be a hard on to take," he said.
"When you are First Division club and beat Dundee United and Rangers, to come so close is devastating."
