Dobbie failed to make an impact at Hibs this season |
St Johnstone have signed centre forward Stephen Dobbie from Hibernian on a two-year deal. The 22-year-old has been on loan at McDiarmid Park since January, making eight appearances for the Perth side.
"Stephen had intimated to me that he wanted to be part of what I am trying to achieve here," said new Saints manager Owen Coyle.
"And, considering that he could have remained at Hibs for another year, I was impressed by that."
Dobbie arrived at Easter Road from Rangers in 2003 but made just 11 appearances for Hibs this season, mainly as a substitute.
"He has great feet and an eye for goal and I think that if we can get him in peak physical condition that we can get a lot of goals out of him next season," added Coyle.
Meanwhile, defender Mark Baxter has agreed a six-month deal with the Saints.
