Southend United boss Steve Tilson has offered teenage forward Gary Hooper a new contract. The 19-year-old former Grays player ended last season on loan at League One outfit Leyton Orient, helping them to avoid relegation.
Tilson told Southend's website: "We have made him an offer. We regard him as a good prospect for the future and we want that to be with Southend."
Meanwhile, forward James Lawson and defender Efe Sodje have left the club.
