Southend have completed the signing of Sunderland midfielder Arnau Riera on loan until 1 January next year. The 25-year-old becomes the 10th player to leave Sunderland since Roy Keane took over as manager back in August.
Riera has made just two appearances for the Black Cats, and was sent off three minutes into his debut against Bury in the Carling Cup in August.
The former Barcelona B player will go straight into Southend's squad to face Colchester on Saturday.
