Southend completed the signing of striker Matt Harrold from Yeovil on transfer deadline day. The 22-year-old started his career with Southend but did not make a first-team appearance and left for non-league Harlow in 2002.
He joined Brentford in 2003 and also had loan spells with Dagenham & Redbridge and Grimsby before joining Yeovil in June 2005.
The Essex-born forward has signed a three-year deal with the Blues.
