Southend's new youth team boss Ricky Duncan has informed two third year scholars that they will not be offered senior contracts at Roots Hall. Midfielders Joe North and Max Porter are the pair to be let go.
Duncan told the club website: "They've been fantastic to work with, but their future lies away from Southend.
"Max and Joe will continue to train with us while they search for a new side, and we will do all we can to get them set up with a new club."
