Leon Constantine has left Southend and joined Peterborough on a two-year deal. Southend offered the 26-year-old, who was out of contract at Roots Hall, a new deal and several other clubs expressed an interest in the striker.
"I'm delighted to have signed here, it is a step in the right direction," Constantine told the club's website.
Posh manager Barry Fry said: "I'm delighted to have signed Leon, he is a proven goalscorer and at the top of his form. He'll be a great asset."
Constantine scored 21 goals in Division Three last season.
