Southampton's Rudi Skacel has joined German side Hertha Berlin on loan to the end of the season. The left-sided midfielder, 29, made the move in order to strengthen his chances of making the Czech Republic squad for Euro 2008.
Acting chief executive Lee Hoos said: "We made it very clear we wanted Rudi to stay but he was adamant he needed to leave the club.
"Rudi felt he would not get a look-in unless he was playing in a top league."
