Southampton director and former Saints boss Lawrie McMenemy has been awarded the Freedom of the City. The city council bestowed the honour in recognition of football achievements, most notably Saints 1976 FA Cup win.
As manager, McMenemy also guided Saints to second place in the top flight, the League Cup final and into several European campaigns.
He said; "It's a great honour for me and my family, and for the club, and I'm delighted to recieve it."
