Southampton caretaker manager Dave Bassett insists teenage striker Theo Walcott is happy at the club. The 16-year-old has been linked with 8m moves to Arsenal and Chelsea in the January transfer window.
But Bassett told BBC Sport: "We are not looking for Theo to go but you get speculation when a young player does well - but I just ignore it.
"We see Theo's future at Southampton and we are sure he does too because it is good for him to be here."
Bassett added: "The chairman Rupert Lowe will decide if the situation becomes serious but we just get on with it because this sort of thing is part and parcel of football.
"I can't legislate for it and don't waste time on it but Theo is a good lad and he is happy here."
Walcott has become a hot property at Southampton and captured the headline again with a stunning strike in the 1-0 win against play-off rivals Luton at St Mary's on Sunday.
