Sir Clive Woodward is keen to prove his critics wrong and succeed at his job as Southampton's performance director. "I'm sure there are prejudiced people who think I should not be here but that was always going to happen," the former England rugby boss told The Observer.
"A lot of people would like to see me fall flat on my face. That is human nature but that has been the story of my life.
"People have often told me what I can't do, rather than what I can do."
Woodward and Saints manager Harry Redknapp recently held a news conference to deny reports that Redknapp was set to quit because of Woodward's role.
Looking at his future, Woodward added: "It is a way of of getting me into football in a way that I can justify my salary.
"You are not under the pressure the manager is under but I would like to get back into that situation at some stage. I do enjoy it."
