Jamaican international striker Ricardo Fuller could be the latest to join the exodus from Portsmouth to Southampton. Pompey chairman Milan Mandaric admitted former boss Harry Redknapp has shown an interest in taking the 25-year-old who signed from Preston in the summer.
Mandaric said: "Saints have made an inquiry, yes, they are interested in Ricardo, but we wouldn't consider a loan deal.
"If the circumstances were right, I could see a sale being completed."
Fuller has scored one goal since his arrival at Fratton Park on a pay-as-you-play deal from Preston.
Concerns over Fuller's knee caused Pompey to renegotiate an initial 2m deal for the Jamaican striker. Under the new terms, then Pompey boss Harry Redknapp paid an initial 250,000, with Preston receiving 15,000 for every appearance made by Fuller, up to a maximum price tag of around 1.5m.
If Fuller moves to Southampton, he will follow in the footsteps of Redknapp, assistant boss Jim Smith and coach Kevin Bond, as well as Pompey skipper Nigel Quashie.
Quashie completed a 2m move to St Mary's last week, but suffered a knee injury in training which prevented him making his debut against Liverpool on Saturday and will keep him out for another two weeks.
