Southampton midfielder Nigel Quashie insists that Sir Clive Woodward has not interfered with first-team matters. There have been reports of rifts at the club after Woodward joined as technical director, despite insisting he would not affect boss Harry Redknapp's work.
"The way that he (Woodward) is, he hasn't had much impact on the players individually, because that is Harry's job," Quashie told BBC Radio Solent.
"It's just basic stuff to make sure the club is going in the right direction."
Quashie added: "It's not for anyone to interfere with what the manager is trying to do.
"He (Woodward) is here to make it work and get it right off the field - the structure of the football club and the youth system, the preparation and facilities.
"We accepted that - his methods are meant to take the club forward."
