Shrewsbury Town striker Grant Holt is to have an operation on his ankle that will keep him out of the club's pre-season preparations.
The 28-year-old, who scored 20 goals in League Two for Town this season, will have surgery on Thursday.
"It will put him out for about six weeks," Shrewsbury boss Paul Simpson told BBC Radio Shropshire.
"He'll be back by the middle to the end of July and hopefully he'll be ready for the start of the season."
Holt joined Shrewsbury from Nottingham Forest in June 2008 for a club record fee of £170,000.
