Shrewsbury Town reject Gavin Cadwallader has said he has not given up on playing in the Football League.
The 22-year-old defender was released by former Shrews boss Gary Peters in 2006 and has since been playing in the League of Wales for Aberystwyth Town.
"I'd like to think that I can play again in the League, but I've been happy at Aberystwyth," the defender told BBC Radio Shropshire.
"I'm enjoying playing, and coaching youngsters in Shrewsbury."
Cadwallader added: "At first it was a blow when Gary Peters released me but I felt under pressure there."
"I wasn't happy with the way I was progressing and I needed a fresh start."
