Leslie signs new deal with Shrews
Steve Leslie
Leslie has been given more time to try and prove himself
Midfielder Steve Leslie has signed a new contract keeping him at Shrewsbury Town until the end of next season.

"Steve has a lot of potential, and at times shows unbelievable ability," said Town manager Gary Peters.

"He's shown in spells what he can do in the first team, but now we've got to get him doing it consistently."

The 20-year-old came through Town's youth system and signed his first pro-contract last summer.

"He's got enough on his plate as a young lad coping with first team football without thinking he's got to play well because if he doesn't he won't get a contract," Peters told the club's website.

"We've taken that pressure off him, and now we've got to stick him out there and see what he can do."
