Davies wants to hit the goal trail again
Midfielder Ben Davies said he wants to hit the Shrewsbury Town goal trail now he is back from a seven month lay-off.

Davies marked his return last week with two goals as Town thrashed Dagenham & Redbridge 4-0 and he is promising more.

"It was brilliant to score two, but I simply see it as two closer to my target," he told BBC Radio Shropshire.

"I always set a target of 10-15 goals a season and although I've missed half of this one, I still don't see why I can't get at least 10 goals a year."

Davies was the club's top scorer with 12 last season, playing a major part in getting Shrewsbury to the play-off final.

We've had a bit of a blip, but we're still tucked in nicely behind the leading pack.

However, the 26-year-old missed out on Wembley after tearing his Achilles tendon in the play-off semi-final at Milton Keynes.

"Promotion's still on this time round," he added. "We've had a bit of a blip, but we're still tucked in nicely behind the leading pack."
