Shrewsbury Town striker Michael Symes has signed a new long-term contract. The 23-year-old has agreed a deal until June 2009 after scoring 12 goals this season for the Gay Meadow club.
Symes joined the Shrews on loan from Bradford City in August before manager Gary Peters initially signed him up until the end of the season.
Peters told his club's website: "We've got to hope he carries on scoring at the rate he has been and if he does who knows what sort of player we may have?"
