Peters has moved to strengthen his keeper cover |
Shrewsbury Town manager Gary Peters has taken Bristol Rovers goalkeeper Scott Shearer on a three-month loan. The 25-year-old Scot has arrived as cover for the injured Ryan Esson, with Chris Neal being recalled from his loan spell by Preston.
Peters told his club's website: "He has played lots of games and is a very decent keeper."
The ex-Coventry keeper will challenge Chris Mackenzie for a place in the Shrews' first team.
Shearer has played three games for Rovers this season and 53 in all since his free transfer last summer.
He started his career with Scottish side Albion, moved to Coventry in 2003 before two loan spells at Rushden.
