Sheffield Wednesday defender Lewis Buxton has been ruled out for up to four weeks with a hamstring strain.
The 26-year-old former Stoke City man picked up the injury in Saturday's 2-1 victory over Plymouth Argyle.
"Lewis has a hamstring strain so could be out of action for four weeks," Wednesday manager Alan Irvine told the club's website.
"We will continue to monitor his situation closely and hopefully he might be fit before then."
Buxton's absence could lead to a recall for Frank Simek, who has not started a Championship game since Boxing Day.
"This gives Frank Simek a chance, so it's a good opportunity for him," added Irvine.
