Sheffield Wednesday have announced that the club made a profit for the first time since 1995 in the annual accounts for the year ending 31 May 2007. The Owls announced a profit of just under �1.5m, compared to a loss of �457,000 for the previous year.
They made an operating loss of �81,000, but enjoyed a profit of �2.4m on player trading, such as Majid Bougherra's �2.5m move to Charlton in January.
Turnover for the 12-month spell also rose by 5.33% to �12.232m.
Meanwhile, payroll costs rose by 11.12% to �6.297m.
