Sturrock has been in charge since 2004 |
Sheffield Wednesday manager Paul Sturrock has signed an extension to his current contract. The 49-year-old joined the Owls in 2004 and his initial contract would have expired at the end of this season.
But the former Southampton boss has now committed to the Hillsborough club until the summer of 2010.
Wednesday were 14th in League One when Sturrock joined but the Scot managed to guide them to promotion via the play-offs that same season.
They are 19th in the Championship after seven games this season.
Sturrock started his managerial career in Scotland with St Johnstone and Dundee United before spells with Plymouth and Southampton.
