Tudgay suffered the injury at a family barbeque |
Sheffield Wednesday striker Marcus Tudgay will be out of action for at least two months after surgery to repair severed tendons in his toe. The 23-year-old suffered the injury to the second toe of his right foot at a family barbeque, but boss Paul Sturrock said there was nothing odd about it.
"He's a model professional and there was no indiscretion from him over this," he told the club website.
Wade Small, Drew Talbot and Richard Wood are also pre-season worries.
Wood has torn a thigh muscle in pre-season training and while Small has a calf problem.
Talbot, who missed much of last season with back trouble, is awaiting the result of a scan on a knee injury.
He picked up the knock in training last week and it is thought to be strained ligament of a torn cartilage.
