Sheffield Wednesday have completed the signing of former Arsenal defender Frankie Simek on a three-year deal. The 20-year-old American was released by the Gunners at the end of last season, but has impressed Owls boss Paul Sturrock in several trial games.
"I'm really excited and looking forward to joining Wednesday on a permanent basis," he told the club website.
"They play good football here, and I'm looking forward to the challenge in this division."
Simek, who hails from Missouri, made just one Carling Cup appearance for Arsenal's first team, but gained Football League experience during loan spells at QPR and Bournemouth last season.
