Wood, 19, has signed a contract running until June 2007 with the option of a further 12 months.

He told the club's website: "I didn't want to be anywhere other than here and I can't wait for next season. It's a chance to play at a higher level."

Wood established himself as a regular member of Paul Sturrock's side in the second half of last season as the Owls clinched promotion via the play-offs.
