Ex-Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Wilson has blasted Owls chairman Dave Allen for sacking manager Chris Turner. Turner was fired after a poor start to the League One season but Wilson said: "It's not really a surprise, it's been unstable at Hillsborough for years.
"More than anything the top of the tree need to get themselves in order before they bring another manager in."
Former striker David Hirst added: "It's a trigger-happy move. If Chris had been given time he'd have got it right."
Wilson was fired by Allen in March 2000 after 20 months in charge and believes the Owls have not learned from their mistakes.
"The fact is we've seen another manager come and go and as usual he's not been given time," added Wilson.
"Chris is a victim of circumstances, but we can all level with that.
"The new man's hands will be tied before he gets his teeth into the job.
"It's very difficult for managers working under that kind of pressure on a game-to-game basis."
