Congolese striker targeted
DR Congo's Ndumbu Nsungu in action for Sheffield Wednesday
DR Congo's Ndumbu Nsungu could sign for Sheffield Wednesday
DR Congo striker Guylain Ndumbu Nsungu is being targeted by English second division club Sheffield Wednesday.

The club's manager Chris Turner has been impressed with the player and could offer him a permanent deal.

The Congolese striker, who is on a year-long loan from French side Amiens, has scored in each of Wednesday's last three away games.

"He sees passes, he's chipping in with goals and could be a match-winner," Turner said.

"He's a good footballer, he's got tremendous skill, things he does on the training ground are wizardry at times.

"I'd like to keep him beyond the end of this season."

The striker is not currently in the DR Congo squad for the African Nations Cup in Tunisia, however national coach Mick Wadsworth has said that he will be called up if there any problems with any of his strikers.

Wadsworth confirmed to BBC Sport that he has had someone watching the striker in action for Sheffield Wednesday.

Ndumba Nsungu was born in Kinshasa but moved to France at the age of seven.
